Weekend vacation Bohinj

The weekend break was the main motive for our Sunrose 7 boutique hotel in Bohinj, which last weekend hosted a group of nice and active girls who set out with Alpine Princess to actively explore Bohinj. We were lucky enough to hold the event in nature in ideal weather. Lake Bohinj with its beautiful surroundings and endless possibilities for outdoor activities, a wine cellar with wine tasting, excellent cuisine and sustainable and award-winning accommodation in Bohinj were just some of the reasons why Alpine Princess chose our boutique hotel in Bohinj.

Alpine Princes is a relatively young propulsive clothing brand, known primarily for its functional and beautiful women's leggings made of modern materials for active girls. And so was the weekend getaway they envisioned at Alpine Princess.

Culinary experience of Bohinj

Friday's culinary experience in Bohinj was prepared for our guests by chef Andrej's team from carefully selected local ingredients: spices and condiments collected in our private garden, local meat and fish farms, and other certified specialties. With a lot of love, gourmet delicacies lined up on the plate one after the other, making all the participants' faces smile. Even before their mouths were moistened with sweet expectations, the ladies grabbed the silverware and began to pamper their palates.

The group ended the evening with top Slovenian wine and after a hard working week, in the desire to rest for the adventures of the next day, they went to bed for a well-deserved rest. In designer hotel rooms with luxury beds and eco-friendly, eco-friendly cotton, everyone soon sank into a sweet sleep.

The best breakfast in Bohinj?

Breakfast in Bohinj is a special culinary experience in our hotel. Last but not least, we also received an award for it - the Bohinjsko certificate. Genuine local flavors, fresh ingredients and a lot of love on the plates radiate the attitude of local growers and farmers to nature, ancestors and rich tradition. With a touch of modernity, traditional ingredients from the local environment are upgraded and enriched with love to represent an inspiring start to any day.

Activities in Bohinj

Satisfied and culinary satisfied, the girls grabbed sports equipment and went to the fresh alpine air of the Julian Alps on the doorstep of our hotel in Bohinj. For new experiences, inspiring views, fresh (knowledge) and so immensely intoxicating and irreplaceable food for the soul that they love to nurture - a vacation in nature.

In the village of Stara Fužina, the guests were received by Grega, the owner of the Hike & Bike agency. A short introduction was followed by a march towards Vogar. Along the way, the ladies got to know some of the sights of Bohinj: the hidden treasures of Stara Fužina, the history of ironworks and Baron Žiga Zois, and over the famous bridge over the Mostnica Gorge all the way to the airfield and lookout point on Vogar. From there to a really idyllic place in the very heart of the Triglav National Park, which Grega calls Bohinj in a nutshell.

Alongside the romantic cottage in unspoiled nature, Grega has presented quite a few extraordinary attractions, which he turns into a real experience with the active participation of those present. After delicious snacks prepared by Greg's life partner Maja, with whom they run the Hike & Bike agency, the girls started learning about Bohinj customs, hand sawing skills, preparing traditional wooden roofing, milking cows and the like. A lot of laughter and fun moments later was followed by a delicious dish, which she prepared in May on an open fire - over the fireplace.

Vogar

With a heavy heart, the ladies left their warm home in an idyllic forest, but on the wings of the expectations of the colorful afternoon that followed, it was easier to walk towards probably one of the most beautiful views of Lake Bohinj. Despite the fact that Bohinj is currently quite far from the usual summer crowds and crowds of tourists, it was necessary to wait a bit for photography. But every minute was worth everything - the breathtaking views, which spread all over the expanse of Lake Bohinj, always impress even the most pampered and natural beauty accustomed pair of eyes.

Wine (and cheese) tasting in the wine cellar

Soon after returning to the rooms and after a relaxing shower and delicious coffee in a restaurant called Kavarna pod kostanji, where the girls continued to caress the gentle June late afternoon sunshine with the rustling of leaves and melodies of river rapids in the background, the ladies waited for a tasting of wine and cheese. Pr'Prangerčk.

The local Pr’Prangerčk cheese factory boasts the traditional production of excellent cheeses. On the tasting plates, it was hard to decide which one to start with. Cheeses, their process of maturing and production from domestic milk and cultures were presented by Andreja. Despite the interesting findings, the desire to pamper your palate was too great to resist cheese plates and other tasting delicacies. A wine tasting followed. The sommelier presented the different wine varieties, their history and origins. After a better mood, as the languages ​​also flowed more and more, it was time for another culinary masterpiece.

With pleasantly full stomachs, the ladies said goodbye to the day in our large private garden by the river. On the massive larch wood benches, they were warmed by the garden fire, just as we were warmed by the thought of our guests being so very pleased. It is a great feeling when guests are so sincerely satisfied when they praise every little thing during their stay in our boutique hotel in Bohinj.

Yoga in Bohinj in a private garden by the river

The ladies woke up to a fresh and still sunny morning, and clouds were already gathering over the Bohinj-Tolmin mountains, announcing a change in the weather. Before the delicious breakfast, the girls were waiting for yoga to wake up and a better start to the day. On the grass of the landscaped garden by the river, she was led by the lovely Tamara, who leads Yoga Bohinj.

Lake Bohinj and water activities

Lake Bohinj is ideal for water activities, so it was a logical choice for the Alpine Princess group for Sunday activities.

Always friendly Andrej Podlipnk, the owner and director of the Alpinsport agency, had multi-colored SUPs for girls and a boat for a photographer ready on arrival. Paddle left and right and they were already sliding silently across the crystal clear lake surface of Lake Bohinj. In a relaxed atmosphere, the girls took a two-hour SUP trip around the lake on their own, and the bravest of them refreshed themselves and bathed in the lake on a rather sultry day.

High in the mountains, black clouds were gathering faster and faster over the Julian Alps and slowly covering the sky over the Triglav National Park. Like everything that is beautiful, the weekend in Bohinj and the active vacation was slowly coming to an end. But the reputation was not difficult, as we were all extremely pleased.
