The Story Behind Zlata Vila
Inspired by a centuries-old Bohinj legend of golden fairies, pristine nature and inner wellbeing.

Everyone knows the legend of the Goldhorn, the royal ibex with golden horns. But only a handful know the stories of fairies that live in the most beautiful rock walls above Lake Bohinj and other hidden corners of Bohinj. Stories were told by those visiting the mountains and other lovers of heights, who took to the hills of Bohinj for breathtaking views and got lost in the beautiful, even magical places along the way.
The fairies along with the goldhorn lived in the most beautiful and unspoiled part of nature around them. The healing power of the meadow plants fed them with energy and protected the amazing home of the fairies from people who always longed and desired to experience this same freedom and happiness.
Travelers who have long encountered fairies were amazed by their exceptional and almost indescribable beauty. They said the fairies were recognized by their long hair, which shone like gold. Their skin was supple and soft and shiny from the minerals of the pure water of the Triglav Seven Lakes. When they spoke, their voice sounded like the most beautiful melody that caressed the meadows and forests of Bohinj and melted the hearts of the lucky ones who could experience it.
Golden fairies cared for the beauty of the animals and plants around them. They looked after the natural treasures that the Bohinj mountains are full of. In addition to shepherds, miners and ironworkers often entered the kingdom of fairies and Goldhorns. The latter were the most important economic activities for the survival of the inhabitants under the mountains. Ajdovski gradec near the Sunrose 7 hotel & SPA Bohinj was also a symbol of an iron past in Bohinj, which has more than 2,500 years of history. At that time, a blast furnace stood near to where the Sunrose 7 hotel is today, which served to melt iron ore.
In honor of this important period of Bohinj's history, our wellness is decorated in the shades of black iron ore, complemented by Slovenian wood and the brighter, warn tones of the gold in the relax area.
