At Sunrose 7, we believe exceptional food begins with exceptional ingredients. We work with local producers, seasonal harvests and recipes inspired by Bohinj's culinary heritage.
Our kitchen combines traditional knowledge with contemporary techniques, creating dishes that reflect the character of the Julian Alps.

Every great dish has a story. Jože's began at home.
Jože discovered his passion for cooking alongside his mother Marija, learning traditional Bohinj recipes, making homemade pasta and gnocchi, and growing vegetables in the family garden.
Those early experiences shaped his belief that exceptional cuisine begins with exceptional ingredients and respect for tradition.
After formal culinary training and years of experience in renowned kitchens across Slovenia, Jože returned to his roots. Today, he combines generations of Bohinj culinary heritage with contemporary techniques and seasonal local ingredients.
His work has earned recognition from Gault&Millau, Falstaff and other respected culinary guides, while remaining true to the flavours and traditions that inspired him from the beginning.

As we have limited number of tables available and want to provide all guests with exceptional experience, table reservation is limited to the time slot and duration indicated at reservation.
After dinner, you are welcome to join us for social gathering in the café or on the terrace by the river enjoying.

From morning until night, our cuisine is based on locally sourced ingredients, prepared with love. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available, according to the reservation made in our Bohnj Restaurant.

Parking is available at the hotel, subject to availability, or 100 meters from the hotel at additional parking lots of the Bohinj ECO Hotel. Parking is free.
Garage parking and electric vehicle charging are available, subject to availability and for an additional fee.

Please inform us of your delay. In the event of not arriving on time, we will be forced to shorten the menu. The dinner payment will be charged in full.
Should you be running late for 15 minutes or more and not informing the restaurant about the delay, we will charge a full amount for no-show and may not have table reservation in place no more.

You can cancel your reservation free of charge up to 6 hours before the reserved time. In case of later cancellation of the reservation or failure to show up, 100% of the reservation value will be charged.

Sunrose 7 is an adults-only (16+) hotel, so entry to the hotel, restaurant, and hotel garden is only allowed for people who are over 16 years old. We recommend Bohinj ECO Hotel for families with young children.

Pets are only allowed on the hotel terrace, provided they are peaceful and on a leash. Pets are not allowed anywhere inside or garden.
Restaurant Sunrose 7 in Bohinj
Along the Belca River, in a private garden in Bohinjska Bistrica, next to Ceconi Park, there is a restaurant and café under the chestnut trees. This famous location has been delighting guests since 1890, attracting them with the shade of chestnut canopies, a good reputation from the ninth village for excellent food, friendly staff, and the melody of the river flow.

Some would say that the best restaurant in Bohinj is located high up in the hills, in a surprisingly comfortable spot on a meadow, from which all views of the Julian Alps are first-class! This image is tempting, but so is the one with a view of Lake Bohinj and the beauty that the Triglav National Park offers. However, the most comfortable of them all is the inn in Bohinj by the river, with fresh local flavors on the plate and in the glass.
The Restaurant "Pod kostanji" has the longest, but always exceptional tradition in Bohinj. Today we are proud of our excellent Slovenian coffee, homemade desserts, pies, cookies, and other snacks that are always in the spotlight. We have packed Bohinj delicacies into recipes that were lovingly passed down by our grandmothers. Therefore, they contain even more love, to which we have added our name and the stamp of modernity.
